Barnacle Boot Device

The Barnacle Boot device is a relatively new technology designed to assist law enforcement with parking enforcement. It's a type of vehicle immobilization device that attaches to the windshield of a car, much like a parking ticket.

But unlike a parking ticket, the Barnacle Boot is more effective in that it completely immobilizes the car by creating a vacuum seal on the windshield. The driver of the vehicle must then call a phone number provided on the device and pay a fine to have the device removed.

This makes the process of parking enforcement more efficient and safer for parking enforcement officers, as they no longer need to physically attach a boot to a car's tire.

While the Barnacle Boot device has been adopted in several states across the US, it's still a relatively new concept in Maryland. The state has been exploring the use of the device, but it's not yet clear whether it will be adopted.
